About
"For no one—no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts. This you can trust." Auston Habershaw
Dark Respite delivers dark heavily distorted songs with clean vocals and mind blowing solo’s for fans of the stoner/doom sub genre of heavy metal.
Described by fans as a melding of Danzig and Uncle Acid, Dark Respite has released a multitude of tracks and music videos leading up to their debut album, (City of Woe),which is set for release in December of 2026. The new album is a collection of songs exploring determination, loss, struggle, and conflict in an environment dedicated to ripping away what we value most.
Dark respite was created by Danny Woden after trying but failing to find musicians who loved the same style of music and had the skills to play it. One particular evening Danny came across an article about a band whose lead singer/guitarist recorded vocals, guitar, and bass for a whole album after loosing his bassist. Knowing that it could be done, Danny started creating songs, guitar/bass/vocals, with the aid of an excellent session drummer (Geoff Cotton) and ace mixing technician (Tyler Tingey). The results speak for themselves.
Influences include: Black Sabbath, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, The Sword, Green Leaf, Alice in Chains, and Graveyard.
